David Sanger of the New York Times gets the scoop– that US Secretary of Defense Robert Gates sent the White House a memo last January observing that the US has no real developed policy for dealing with Iran should Tehran achieve 'nuclear latency' (where a country has the ability to construct a nuclear weapon but stops short of doing so, in order to avoid international sanctions and disapproval.

Ironically, the take-away from this article is that Gates concurs with those analysts (such as Juan Cole) that Iran does not intend actually to build a bomb, but wants the technical know-how to do so as a way of deterring foreign invasions and attacks.

Afghan President Hamid Karzai has appointed a new election commission chief, ahead of the upcoming parliamentary vote in the war-weary country.

Karzai appointed Fazel Ahmad Manavi as the chairman of the Independent Election Commission (IEC).

US-led soldiers killed in Afghanistan

As Afghanistan continues to struggle with militancy, NATO says a roadside bomb has killed two more US-led soldiers in the country's volatile south.

The nationalities of the soldiers have not been disclosed yet. The deaths bring the number of foreign troops killed in Afghanistan this year to 164.

I don't pat myself on the back often, but this one time I will make an exception…

Several months ago, in my article "No Business Like Shoah Business–The Golden Goose Of Holocau$tianity and The Real Reasons For Irana-phobia" I postulated that Israel was not afraid of Iran doing anything crazy viz-a-viz wiping Judenland off the map (as we are constantly told) but rather–as with all things involving the organically-deceptive nature of how Jewish interests run things–that there were ulterior reasons behind it all that weren't being discussed.

AZ to 'police' illegal immigrants

Authorities in Arizona are close to passing the nation's toughest law on illegal immigration — a move that right-advocates say would create a police state.

"This is not an answer to illegal immigration," Jorge-Mario Cabrera from the coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles told Press TV. "This is simply setting up a police state within the United States of America."

If you listen to Chris Matthews and MSNBC, you'd think the Tea Party movement is strictly white and teaming with racists.

The corporate media pushes this fallacy because it is the only card they have to play and because racism is such a divisive issue. If the establishment can portray the Tea Party movement as racist, they believe they can shut it down and marginalize its message.

The conference, meeting under the slogan "Nuclear Energy for All, Nuclear Weapons for No One," was kicked off early Saturday, and included 10 foreign ministers, 14 deputy foreign ministers as well as nuclear experts from 60 countries.

Bombs hit India cricket match

Two bombs have been set off at a crowded stadium in southern India, injuring at least ten people and raising fears that the country's most prestigious cricket league was the target.

Police in Banglore said that explosions struck the Chinnaswamy Stadium, where an Indian Premier League match was about to start between Bangalore Royal Challengers and the Mumbai Indians on Saturday.
