CM Speaks to Medha Patkar | No Fire in Kitchens at Ganesh Krupa Society
May 27, Mumbai : Late last night Shri Prithviraj Chavan, CM Maharashtra called Medha Patkar, who is sitting on an indefinite fast from May 20th. They both talked on the issues which had been discussed with Ratnakar Gaikwad, Chief Secretary and then Sachin Ahir, Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development and further decisions and consensus on the demands is awaited by noon today.
Meanwhile, as Medha's fast enters 8th day she is feeling weaker than before, heart palpitation continues and is developing burning sensations after vomiting. She has been unable to walk on her own and needs constant support. Syed Zuber who is now on the 4th day of hunger strike is developing signs of weakness but remains in high spirit.
Last night in a meeting of the activists, Ganesh Krupa Hosuing Society decided not to light fire in their kitchens, and also the community kitchen has been shut down from today onwards. It was also decided that there will be simultaneous dharnas will be organised in the city in different bastis from today onwards.
