DELHI HIGH COURT NOTICE TO GOVERMENT ON PTA IN UNAIDED SCHOOLS New Delhi, Dec 3 (PTI) The Delhi High Court today sought a response from the city government on a plea for implemenation of the court''s previous order to issue directions to set up Parents Teachers Association(PTA) in every aided and unaided schools here. Issuing a notice to the NCT government and its Department of Education, a division bench of Justice A K Sikri and Justice Sidharth Mridul sought their responses by February 11, 2011. The bench was hearing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Faith Academy Parents Association, a registered society, through counsel Ashok Aggarwal seeking a direction to the government for implementation of the court''s April 12 order to constitute PTA in every school. In the petition, the association said that despite the court order some schools have not formed PTA under one pretext or another and the Directorate of Education has failed to take action against those schools. According to the petitioner, some minority schools have claimed they were not bound to form PTA because of their minority character. The Faith Academy school in Karol Bagh also has failed to set up PTA on similar ground, the petitioner said and sought a direction to the Education Department to act against the school.
