Kashmiri children march on PaK roads for hours

Out To Remind Obama About Kashmir Issue

Muzaffarabad, Nov 5: Kashmiri children on Friday marched for hours with placards signifying their urge to send a message across on the eve of US President Barack Obama's maiden visit to India pleading him to intervene to resolve Kashmir dispute.
Hundreds of children joined the rally that began from a city graveyard where earlier they highlighted the agony and sufferings of Kashmiris owing to the non-settlement of issue.

"Mr President, Kashmir Children Assembly (KCA) seeks your attention," read a big banner, referring to the Kashmiri children's representative forum which had organized the event, second of its kind in less than two weeks.  

Children chanted catchy and rhythmic slogans while marching through the roads here on Friday.
"Mr Obama, Kashmiris are in trauma; they need, freedom, freedom, freedom," read a slogan. 
Earlier, children laid floral wreaths at the mausoleums of Mirwaiz Moulvi Yousaf Shah and K H Khurshid, former PaK presidents and pioneers of Kashmir freedom movement, in the main old city.

From there, they entered the adjacent graveyard, where along with local residents hundreds of Kashmiri migrants – both old and fresh – have also been laid to rest.
While showering flower petals on the graves of martyrs, they offered prayers.
"Oh Allah, we have seen too many killings, too many widows and too many orphans in our motherland. Please be merciful to us and bring an end to our sufferings," prayed Danish Nazir, whose father was killed in Kargil war.

Militant leader turned peace activist Tanveer ul Islam and former PaK minister Khawaja Farooq Ahmed, who were present on the occasion, were seen wiping out their tears at the passionate pleas of the teenage orphan.

Speaking on the occasion, KCA office bearers reminded the US President of his commitment about Kashmir as well as the hopes pinned on his visit by the Kashmiris.
 "From 1947 onwards, the massacre of Kashmiris continues with impunity. We call upon President Obama to intervene in Kashmir to bring an end to the reign of terror in the territory," said KCA president Bilal Abdullah, also an orphan.

Gloomy faces among the gathering reflected the sorrow of a 16-year old who said his family was unaware as to where was the resting place of his father.
He pointed out that discovery of 2700 unmarked graves in just three towns of Valley lend credence to allegations that more than 10,000 missing people might also have been killed by the troops.

"What else the international community wants should happen in our motherland to justify their intervention," he questioned.
Irtaza Muhammad, another KCA office bearer, called upon the US President to ensure a safe world for the Kashmiri children like what he wished for the American children.

"We have seen enough of deaths and destruction in Kashmir. Let us live in peace and tranquility which is the basic right of every human being, irrespective of cast, creed and color," he said.

Last month, around 4000 children from PaK had written letters to Obama, under the aegis of KCA, with main emphasis on U.S. intervention in Kashmir
